Hi to all.
My name is Denis and I'm Java Developer from Moscow, Russia.
Me and my friend are currently very into 3-d printing. We're trying to make
printer by ourselves and of course we need software to use it. After some
time of searching we decided that ReplicatorG is currently one of the best
choices for us because it's free and easy-to-use.
Today 3-d printing is developing fast and become widely spread even is
Russia, but still there is no russian software for printers. Because of
that we decided to adopt ReplicatorG and make localized Russian version of
it for other non-english-speaking people to use. We're currently working on
it. Tell me please what is the best way to contribute for your project this
way (making Russian version)? Should I clone git repo, modify it and then
you'll take changes and make version, or you would like it some another way?
For us the best way would be like this: we take sources from git, perform
changes, build working russian version and put it on our website. Then you
can just put a link to our page at your replicat.org. And we would really
appreciate this way of mentioning our contribution. Of course we're going
to continue making russian versions of replicatorG when new releases will
come out, because we're really interested in promotion 3-d printing in
Russia.
Also we plan to make russian manual for this application later and
translate other materials that are useful.
So please answer to 2 main questions:
1. What is the best way to contribute russian version?
2. Is it possible to have some kind of reference to us/our website at
replicat.org. Website will be only about 3-d printing, no commercials or
anything like that.
