login for web applications?

Hi, I'm considering using RTM for building a web app. I was wondering,
following the successful retrieval of auth_token, are there any
methods in the API for creating a secure login with RTM users details.

I am assuming most apps are storing the token as a cookie but I am
concerned about user privacy, especially on shared computers.

I'd rather not create a separate login system with the retrieved token
as it is not appropriate (for users or for RTM).

If anyone has any ideas or have implemented something similar I'd be
very grateful for the feedback.
