Subject: Apr. 25 - Planning Meeting Notes (wordy, but exciting notes, read um!)
Apr. 25th Planning Meeting at Blue House

= Attendees =
Justin M
Mike Bremmer
Kevin Hoffman
Nick Hall
Bill Mill
Lokesh Dhakar

= May Refresh Event =
No May event. We decided to skip May and begin planning for the June
Refresh Event instead. Main reason being the approaching Social Dev
Camp (details below) at UofB on May 10th. Seems like a great event and
many of the Refresh members will be attending and participating.

= June Refresh Event =
Kevin Hoffman is looking into locking up the venue. Tentatively, the
June Refresh Event will be held Thursday June 5th in the Brown Center
at MICA.

For speakers and presentations, Kevin will be contacting Angela
Colter, Senior Usability Specialist at Userworks, who has shown some
interest in doing a panel with a couple of her colleagues about
wireframes. I say wireframes, but the actual topic is still TBD, but
it would likely involve early planning/strategy stage deliverables.

Kevin also has some well-known contacts such as Dan Mall and Jason
Santa-Maria who we might be able to get to swing by B'more. Also, if
anyone else is interested in speaking or would like to hear about a
certain topic, add a note.

= Mini-events =
Also brought up was the idea of having a less structured get-together
two weeks after a Refresh Event. This would be a smaller, in-between
meeting between the main Refresh events. The purpose being: to discuss
the previous event and also to chit-chat a bit with peers. First mini-
event could be two weeks after Social Dev Camp, probably over dinner
and drinks. Thoughts and ideas? still very much up in the air.

= Social Dev Camp East =
We are hoping to get the venue, date, and topics for the June Refresh
event nailed before SocialDevCamp so we can promote the Refresh event
at Social Dev Camp. Either way, this is a great opportunity to promote
Refresh and spread the word.

= Promo Items =
Would be great to have something to hand out at Social Dev Camp or the
next Refresh event. Something less computer, more tangible! Ben K. had
mentioned coasters in the past. I think thats a great idea, other
ideas are also welcome. Ben, chime in.

= Group Project =
Ideas were thrown around about projects that members of Refresh could
do as a group. This would be a non-profit project. Ideally benefiting
or showcasing Baltimore (and our talents) in some way. Still in the
idea incubation stage. Any ideas?

= More Social Dev Camp Info =

Social Web"

= Epilogue =
If I forgot anything that was discussed in the meeting, please append.
Everyone, please add your comments and ideas.

Hey Lo,

First I would like to say thank you for posting the notes. I was
thinking the same thing the other night, if we could have something to
give out at Dev Camp for Refresh, would help promote as you said what
we are all trying to grow. One idea I had was what if we wore orange
shirts to the camp and either got printed on the Refresh Bmore, or we
could do it ourselves by hand or iron ons. Just an idea. Still would
be nice to pass things out though as well.

The mini meetings I find to be great.I know sometimes projects, other
obligations or life can get in the way of heading down to Refresh.
Having more opportunities to meet is very helpful.
