Jan,
If they are looking to use the card scanner to get the information from the business card into their address book, then an option is the iPhone app, CardSnap. I've seen it in action and it appears to work well, still struggling with an issue on the iTunes store, otherwise I'd have installed it already.

I have a client who wants to upgrade from cell phone to IPhone or
contender. Anyone done any comparison of the leader and wannabe's? Pro
and con? Had direct experience - we use IPhone.
Also, he is looking to purchase a card scanner for business cards. We
use Macs and he is PC. Not familiar with options here.

If anybody on the list IS an XSL expert, or knows of someone who is that
they can recommend, I would like to trade a few bucks for a quickie job I
need done. I have an incoming XML file, I need an XSL stylesheet written to
transform it to a target format. For an expert, i don't imagine this would
take more than 30 minutes (my estimation).

Refresh SXSW Kick Off Lunch is Tomorrow!

Howdy everyone,
We've set up a lunch gathering for Refreshers from around the world from noon to 2pm tomorrow (Friday March 12th) to kick off SXSW Interactive. This is a great chance to catch up with Refreshers you met last year and make some new friends before the conference starts in full. The lunch will be at B.D. Riley's, the same venue as the last two years, and will be a casual affair. At this point we have about 50 RSVPs and I wouldn't be surprised to have more folks show up. We'd love to have you join us.

Rogue Amoeba's Fission does a great job with non-DRM wmv files.

Hi Jan,
My bad, I just got home and checked and, for sure, Audacity does not let you
work with WMA--or any other proprietary, digital rights management--format.
I could have sworn I'd done this in the past, but now I remember that I had
to convert the files to WAV and then edit them in Audacity.
Using a file converter is an option if you don't mind the added a step. I

I love Audacity, and have used it for many years.
However, wma files are a Microsoft proprietary format, and Audacity cannot
read them because of license restrictions. grrr.

I would second audacity! Its very easy to use and allows easy access and edit of a variety of file types.

with WMA files. I recommend Audacity, which I believe is open source.
Just search for it and it should be at the top of the results. Hope
