Activist role for small businesses

Even if you are not the owner, think beyond the bottom line and the products.

I have been an activist owner and it has given me a lot. 

You have a chance to do something important, too. This Friday, Feb. 5,  the City of Austin is holding a public meeting on selecting a Chief Sustainability Officer. All business owners should attend to help define the profile for the person Austin should hire. 

My suggestions: we hire someone who agrees we need an effort to make sure we encourage sustainable businesses and that small business stability is considered before ordinances go through or contracts are let.
