The crew at ActiveProspect is looking for some assistance
on the database side of things. We leverage mysql for our
work but are pushing the limits (in terms of optimizing for
size) of what it can reasonably do (or so we think) without
first redefining our strategy and perhaps some of the underlying
infrastructure. We need someone who can come in and help
us streamline the operation, find a smarter, better way of
doing things and help us get there. This would be a short
term gig with an opportunity for longer term commitment.

Specifically if you have exceptional knowledge and understanding
of the following core areas then we really want to buy you
a caffeinated product of your choosing and talk further:

o Mysql5 extensive knowledge (even 5.1 for future++)
- Replication, Backup Strategies, Optimization
- Proper handling and hygiene of large databases
o Linux and filesystems
o Application architecture as it relates to proper
database optimization especially serving multiple
frameworks and ORMs
o Cloud Experience (EC2/EBS) a major plus

I know that's a tall order but I know we've got some talented
folks out there. Drop me a line directly if the above fits
you or someone you know.

Thanks,
-Rick
