Front-End Web Developer

nFusion seeks a front-end Web developer excited about working on the
presentation layer of Web products for industry-leading website
solutions. Qualified candidates must be experts in XHTML, CSS and
JavaScript with an emphasis on DHMTL and AJAX.
The ideal front-end developer is attentive to detail, resourceful,
works well under pressure and has strong communication skills.
Developers must be effective communicating with both technical
development team members and non-technical personnel. Additionally,
they must be an energetic, creative individual with experience
producing web pages in a fast-paced environment. The perfect candidate
will possess a strong work ethic, thrive on variety, enjoy and work
effectively in a team environment and possess a hunger for
responsibility and learning.

Responsibilities
• Possess a strong knowledge of up-to-date Web design and Web
standards, in particular with respect to concepts of full separation
of content from presentation using CSS/text-based table-less layout,
accessibility and cross-browser compatibility techniques
• Have a good understanding of unobtrusive JavaScript coding and
multiple event listening/handling on a single document
• Have experience with a client-side scripting framework
implementation that assists with Ajax client/server communications but
also facilitates dynamic presentation layer effects
• Have working knowledge of AJAX concepts widely supported across the
browser market, the potentials of XMLHTTP, while exploiting the
possibilities of accessible DHTML
• Be able to manage multiple tasks at the same time; focus on internal
best practices, coding, testing and documenting; determine
specifications; modify and expand XHTML templates to work across a
network of sites
• Work with the project manager, team manager and other developers to
ensure production deadlines are met
• Receive minimal supervision and generally be able to work
independently or within a team.
• Demonstrate an eagerness to contribute to a better and more
interoperable Web and enthusiasm for the mission and spirit of what’s
required for the company
• Focus on internal best practices, coding, testing and documenting;
determining specifications, modifying and expanding global libraries
of code to work across a network of sites

Requirements
• 4 – 6 years of work experience hand-coding Web pages that validate
without error to XHTML 1.0 Transitional
• Thorough understanding of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, DOM and complex
DHTML elements using JavaScript and CSS
• Ability to hand-code pages using CSS for a fluid, non-table-based
layout of page elements
• Proven ability to hand-code AJAX applications and resolve cross-
platform/browser issues
• Good knowledge of Photoshop is required for slicing, cutting and
optimizing Web graphics for speed and performance
• A thorough knowledge of Web 2.0 characteristics and practical usage
of its features

Pluses
• Flash/Flex/Action Script experience
• Experience with other Web technologies such as PHP, ColdFusion, JSP,
XML/XSLT
• Experience building effective, cross-client compatible HTML e-mail
campaigns
• Experience theming, customizing and adapting open-source content
management
• Experience building interfaces for large scale, multi-lingual,
international websites
• Familiarity with principles of AGILE development
• Quality assurance and/or testing experience
