Our customer is a privately-held, New York-based company and the world's largest independent provider of directory assistance andenhanced information services. During their twenty year history, they have built some of the most successful brands in the telecommunications, customer care, and digital media sectors. Last year they served more than a hundred million consumers globally.

They are seeking to add a Senior Cloud Architect to their expanding office in Austin, Texas.

 

Here’s what you’d get to work on:

• Drive the requirements of distributed software technologies throughout the lifecycle: architecture/design, implementation, testing, and post-release support.
• Interact with other engineering teams to understand and optimize their cloud platform needs.
• Must have excellent communication skills and ability to communicate design specifics to both technical and non-technical team members.
• Must have strong leadership skills and be comfortable making design decisions that affect the entire team.

 

Here’s what your background looks like:

• Expert in large scale distributed system design and implementation.
• Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (especially Amazon AWS).
• Familiar and comfortable with the technologies, the tradeoffs, and the design patterns emerging in cloud computing.
• Strong and proven Java and object-oriented development skills (this is a coding position).
• Perl, Python, Ruby or other scripting language experience.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures.
• Solid understanding of the Software as a Service (SaaS) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) models in the online environment.
• Automated metrics collection and analysis.
• Lifecycle automation systems (package, deploy, test, revert).
• Robust monitoring and alarming systems with automated repair.
• Automated right-scaling.
