Refinery generates its navigation menu in the _menu and _menu_branch helpers. I want to keep the provided logic since it allows a user to create a new page. However, let's say I have a model Productand I want to insert a link to the show action of Product in the navigation menu. What's the proper Refinery way to do that?

If you use the refinery generators to create a new Product resource, then you should find a new "page" for that Product resource listed in your "pages" tab within refinery. You can of course then move the page to wherever you want it to be within your normal refinery generated navigation menus.

You will then need to click on "advanced options" for this Product page and make sure that the "forward this page to another website or page" field has the correct path in it, in your case, probably something like /products (for a list of all the products). Hopefully that will get you started on the right track at least.
