Has anyone figured out how to password protect the reef angel? I've
been looking into it, and I think it is possible.
I'm just paranoid that someone will/could turn on/off relays which
could be catastrophic.
Any help on this would be great!

Let me find some time to go through this.
It's not absurdly hard, but I need some time to get this implemented correctly.
But it would be basic access authentication.
There is just no way to be able to implement SSL.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_access_authentication
But, in my opinion, a combination of ip, a non standard port and the folder name is sufficient.
Who is going to actually find out that browsing to http://173.18.157.134:7618/myreefangelwififolder is the page that you can go to have access to control your relays?

Roberto.

Hi Everyone,

Almost 3 months ago, I told you that this wasn't hard to do it....
Well, I take that back... LOL
I had the concept and it was an easy implementation.
It was actually easy to implement, except it worked about 80% to 90% of the time and I couldn't figure out why.
Everytime I spent trying this out with different approaches would always lead me to the same result no matter which road I took.
Today I think I got this nailed.
I will need you to test it to make sure that it is indeed working.
v0.8.3.3 has been released with the basic authentication for the wifi web server code.
The way to get the authentication to work is simple. Simply add this to the setup() section of your code:
WifiAuthentication("username:password");
One restriction is that the username, the colon and password combined cannot exceed 20 characters long.
Let me know if you encounter any problems with this.

Roberto.

I'm also going to work on incorporating the wifi stuff into my
generator application. it may take a little time to get it put in
properly due to some other changes i'm making, but be patient and i'll
keep everybody posted on when this stuff is ready to go.

actually I noticed the RA is not taking commands if I use the new
libraries ( and encryption code).

I though maybe it was just that I put the code in the wrong spot, but
after I log in I can't turn relays on or off.

what about using the new libraries without the encryption code part?
does that work?

Hi Roberto,

it seems to be lagging, and I'm still having problems controlling it
via the web. But it is better :)

Duh.
I changed the xml data to test and forgot to return back to original.
Try v0.8.3.5

is it safe to say that 0.8.3.5 is working good with the new wifi
authentication? i only ask so i know what to update my dev libraries
to (cause 0.8.5.10 is based off of 0.8.3.3).

It's working!

The only problem I experienced is with google chrome on my work pc.
It does work in IE on the same pc though.

Works great on my phone, and from my home pc

Ok cool. That's what I was thinking but wanted to be sure before I
made further improvements. :)
