The U.S government waived environmental and other regulations that it said
Tuesday threatened to delay completion of nearly 500 miles of a barrier
fence along the border with Mexico.

Thanks Johan, for putting me onto this group.
Here's the update on the ICE raids, in which about 165
people were arrested at the DelMonte plant in N.
Portland yesterday. Carol and I were both on site
shortly after the ICE vans arrived. Interestingly,
there were a few indictments based on a conspiracy

President Bush's objection to the Iraq war funding legislation betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of the role of civilian leadership.
He said, "American commanders in the middle of a combat zone would have to take fighting directions from politicians 6,000 miles away in Washington, D.C."
