undefined method `cputs' for main:Object

I have this error trying to build (rake build) after an update of the
project.
I tried to search for cputs in ruby but I found nothing.
The method was added in 'plugins/redcar/tasks/build.rake' inside new
tasks.

Can you help me?

Because of the JRuby port, HEAD currently does not work. The
instructions say to check out the 'stable' tag but I have updated the
readme to make clear that you HAVE to this. Or the 'gtk-head' tag,
which is marginally more recent.

Of course, if you are interested in helping develop Redcar, you can
check out HEAD anyway, but none of the current install instructions
work. Pop into the irc channel if so and we can show you what to do.
