short range depth camera available (Intel)

Intel launched their Perceptual Computing SDK.
It has a special (150USD) camera that is good for short range (6 inches to 3 feet)
The SDK allows depth info to be captured.
IWBNI we could get ReMe to connect to this camera.
Short range at last !!!

AFAIK its a TOF camera and the quality isn't yet good enough for robust 3d scanning.

Possibly a DepthSense 325

The depth image looks pretty good, with a little smoothing it looks useful. 320x240. multiple samples froma moving camera should increas the effective accuracy...
Do you not think so ?
