reCAPTCHA performance issues

Hi,
Curious, has reCAPTCHA been running into any performance issues as
of late?
We have been using the service for many months now without any issues
on our site [link], but for the past couple of days
we've noticed that some request would take up to 5+ seconds before a
['true', 'success'] response is returned. We're still investigating

Hi,
Thanks for the comments on the noscript API. Technical issues make it
difficult for us to allow customizations of the noscript API. We'll take a
look at rewording the message and some of the UI issues for our next major
release.
Long term, we're planning a more comprehensive version of the noscript API

As long as we're discussing this, I wanted to mention a few things
that concern me about the non-JavaScript user experience.
First, the voice of the explanation text is a bit stern. A Web
development team can spend a great deal of time and energy on crafting
just the right voice for their site, but for the form, we're stuck

Problems Validating Text

I am able to have the reCaptcha show on the page without a problem. I
just can not figure out how to have the reCaptcha validate the text
and send me the form's information.

I'm using a basic cgi mail form html and have inserted recaptcha
javascript code and the recaptcha image is visible and working. But in
testing the form, it validates no matter if the incorrect response to
the challenge is entered. The form submits successfully no matter
what. Any advice? Thanks.

Hi everyone. I am continually experiencing problems with the reCAPTCHA
form.
Just for the record I am using PHP.
The reCAPTCHA is appearing on my form, I get the following error
message when the form is sent "reCAPTCHA said: incorrect-captcha-sol"

Now you brought me to an idea.
I already have a fakemail python listening script that intercepts
mails during sending.
I probably will write a python script that intercepts communication
with the recaptcha server and reply some fake response.
This would allow me to keep the system unmodified.

Unfortunately that's where it's going to have to be done.
There's nothing like that available - you have to sort the test
harnesses out yourself.

Thanks for the replies.
I wasn't asking how to skip this in symfony :)
I just hoped that reCaptcha provide some facility that allows dummy-
usage. Like for example a special public key 'xy' that results always
in the same and known captcha code for instance. This would allow
testing integration of reCaptcha.

You can set a specific cookie or query string parameter or UA string.
If the page see this, it will skip validation. It's a security hole
though, if it can be easily guessed.
Another solution, I would set up a different environment for

This part is developed in PHP with symfony as the framework.
I am not sure how to skip that since this is not a unit test but a
functional test where the component is used as it is. There is a fake
browser request and response, so I am testing the page, that passed
through the whole framework.
Hacking this would also cripple the entire dev environment if tested

You cannot automate the testing for reCAPTCHA.
If you require automated testing, you must skip the reCAPTCHA during
that testing, if you require reCAPTCHA to be tested, you cannot
automate it.

Which library are you using?
In any case, you can always skip reCAPTCHA validation when on test mode.
