Wordpress User Registration

I'd love to use reCAPTCHA solely for user registration on my self-
hosted Wordpress installation. The plugin (version 2.7) only adds
reCAPTCHA to the comment form on the bottom of individual posts. I'd
like to leave the comment forms alone (sans reCAPTCHA) and beef up
security for user registration for now. Is this doable? Thanks!
