SOT: Spring for refinished chair

I have an antique office chair, all refinished. But I can't find a replacement spring for the rocker mechanism. It is very simple, just an extension spring about 5 inches long and 1 1/4 inch in diameter. At least that is the one I have in there now. But it isn't nearly heavy enough. Watched the AMA's tonight. With few exceptions, it was bad. Awful in fact. Where was (were) Kings Of Leon? Adam Lambert's song was pretty good, bound to be a hit, but the presentation was disgusting. Maybe I'm getting old.

Zinsser Sanding Sealer vs. Shellac

Does anyone know the relative pound-cut of the standard shellac? I've found that the sealer is a 2lb. cut on their website. When spraying the standard shellac I've had to thin it some, so I was thinking of just buying the sealer and using that. But then I thought again and figured I could just buy a gallon of the regular shellac and a gallon... more »

Thanks to all that gave tips for my friend and his "new to him" Unisaw.. I saw him tonight and he said that he read my email, went out to his shop and had it setup in about 20 minutes.. mac Please remove splinters before emailing

Ok, I tried making a few stopped flutes which terminate with a taper using a wedge as discussed in a previous thread. (Suggested by SonomaProducts) Here is the result: [link] Came out ok.
