DIY Lap Joint Jig (for any size stock)
|
| |
I really like the Bridge City Kerf-Master jig, but have been wanting to build an open-grid top table for solar panel assembly with 2x lumber, which is beyond the capabilities of the KM-1. I've worked up a one-piece jig that's only suitable for use with the blade you use to make it, but that doesn't bother me much. It should... more »

Caulking Gun Clamps
|
| |
I had to derust a bunch of metal. Most of it is pipe and round stock with some flat iron and square tubing in there. It was done with a wire cup brush on an angle grinder. I needed some way to clamp it down at another location without access to a vise or other goodies I have at home. I remember the comments in this newsgroup about a good deal on clamps at Big... more »

Air compressor lines
|
| |
A recent thread about air compressors for the shop reminds me of a solution that worked for me. I had a cheap 5hp compressor with 60 gallon tank located by my breaker box in an adjoining garage area. Air was piped to the shop via a 3/8" flex line and then distributed to 3-4 locations in the shop. As was posted by... more »

desktop seam support question
|
| |
Still working on my new desk: [link] Today's question is about supporting the center section of the top. The primary support will be along the seam, held together with draw bolts (although there's an arch across the widest part to help reduce sagging). I want something along the seam that will align the... more »

Table Saw Switch Question/Problem?
|
| |
I recently bought this switch for my Delta 36-982 (979) table saw. [link] It's good for 220v and that's how I wired the saw motor. Here's the issue... if it is one. I notice that I have to hold the ON switch/button in until the motor is up to speed before I let go of the button, or it disengages. I can... more »

Deep Forest Amchair

I don't know about you, but this chair made a huge impression on me... and not just because of the price... [link] I must be more old fashioned than I thought. While this looks rather interesting, I prefer something a little softer for my derriere.... more »

I can't change the blade on a B & D miter saw.
|
| |
Black & Decker miter sale model 7715 type 3. I bought this saw at a garage sale. the seller cut a board, said it needs a blade. But, I can't remove the old blade. The armature of the motor turns when I try to turn the blade nut. If I "jam" the blade so it can't turn, the armature still turns. How do I lock the motor to... more »
