I went to put a job offer on Craigslist in Las Vegas. Seems it is now $25
to post a job offer in a list of US cities.

Hmm I always though jobs and house for rents always cost something but was just an assumption.

Glad to hear they are finally raking in some money somehow.

Craigslist.org was always one of those great mysteries of life... How
the hell do they survive? Where does their revenue come from.

If you follow the money (excluding of course Job Offers it now seems)
there just isn't anything to follow that touches back to Craigslist.

As others have said Craigslist has been charging for job advertisements for
quite a while

Wikipedia says: "On August 1, 2004, Craigslist began charging $25 to post job
openings on the New York and Los Angeles pages."

The entire Wikipedia article is at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craigslist

For more information on fees for different types of ads see:

Well that can not charge the escorts for ads anymore.

I know they charge for job openings in Washington DC now also, but 40 miles
up the road in Baltimore they are still free.

It's how they make their money. Ever see ads on the site?

The "help wanted" section is their income stream. It subsidizes
everything else.
