I am interested in building pieces similar to those found at Restoration
Hardware. Any suggestions on where to get plans.

you might check the Popular Mechanics website. There are plans for a
Mission style end table that I built and I think there are a few other
pieces of mission furniture.

I build Mission furniture every day, and Micheals designs are one of the
best out there - top notch stuff and worth every penny. The item you've
picked (mule chest and landscape mirror if the link is correct) is VERY
difficult to make without an extensive shop and experience. The 12 drawer
chest requires a LOT of experience in framing, drawer building, dovetailing,
mortising, etc, etc. It CAN be done, but should be done after about a dozen
other simple (cheap) are under your tool belt.

Tell me which pieces you are interested in and I'll give you the starting
points and fixed information - you can't get plans for these specific
Michaels pieces, and it depends on what equipment you've got.

As a basic starter, you'll need a precise table saw, a tenoning jig and a
mortising attachment or mortising machine and LOTS of clamps! Plus all the
hand tools!

You can do it with less, but once you start making these type of pieces
you'll want more. And so will your spouse, your mom, your brother-in-law,
etc, etc, etc...

Go here:

http://209.122.88.33/PlanSearch/search.htm and use mission and arts &
crafts for two separate searches. Then use "Article Search":

http://209.122.88.33/ArticleSearch/visitsearch.htm with the same search
words for additional plans.

Sorry to bounce you around, but I haven't got all the plans URLs moved
from Article Search to Plan search.
