Hi All:

I'm looking for info on how to make the wine bottle balance that is often
seen in gift shops. I did measure one and tried to duplicate, but it didn't
work. A google was of no help. It seems to be an Aussie thing. Anyone know
what the secret is? JOAT?

Terry

Maybe you have to be south of the equator.

Looks like it could though, if the hole was drilled at an angle rather than
straight.
Might have to play around with the geometry and center of gravity a bit
though.

ROTFLMAO I was just getting ready to go do some searching for my
own stuff, and saw this thread, and got curious. Gee, I might have said
do a goodle search, but already had a guy on my case about telling
people to do that. LOL So, what I had planned on doing, was to tell
you to try an archives search. Oops, that's is google too. LMAO
Actually, if you had checked the archives, you probably would have found
my previous post. Below. But, I see someone already posted the same
info. I still think, if you take a slug out of the bottle, it will
change the balance, so it won't work anymore.

Cork? You buy wine with corks?
What I really need is a rack that can balance a wine box.

Yes, but who cares? These things are strictly for show and serve no useful
purpose.

If I'm serving wine for dinner, I open the reds a few hours ahead of time
and whites would be in a chiller.

Since they only hold one bottle, it is not practical for a wine rack, at
least not for me. I make my own wine and have about 250 bottles at any
given time. Most is in the same box the bottles came in just sitting on
their side.
