I'm limited to a vacation the last week in Feb 2010. It's an el nino year, and so the wind in the caribean might be light, and I'm wondering about South Padre Island that time of year. Can anyone give insight into winds and temps that time of year? brian

Now that I've taken up my winter residence, I'm once again becoming aware of the weight difference in rigs. I have heavy equipment here. The Chinook Comp boom and a 30% carbon mast. The Island Free Press in Hatteras has posted several slide shows showing the damage from Ida. Amazingly the first house in Mirlo Beach is still standing while the road is destroyed. Think good thoughts for the residents and vacationers who are enduring this. [link]... more »

Just heard although not confirmed that Robby Naish is a grandfather. Wow... where did the time go? It didn't seem that long ago Robby was world champion at 13 years old or something like that. Congratulations to Robby if true. Man I feel old.

does anyone have experience with the new type of drysuits which have a neoprene neck gasket rather than the usual latex.
