Description: Riding the waves as a hobby.

Anybody know about the Bay of Roses, Spain?
We have a milestone event next year that may include some European tourism. Combining various interests with windsurfing, it looks like we might have a few days to spend in this area. Any comments on the conditions, season, costs? There would be two sailors involved, one an advanced novice, the other... more »

OT: GoogleMaps' Street View - How Dey Do Dat?
Does anybody know how they collect all those panorama images that are available in GoogleMaps' "StreetView" layer? My guess is a truck driving around with some sort of automatic panorama camera just clicking away every so many feet. Truth or fiction? Anybody know the details?

Forums
Just started reading this forum again and the traffic is way down on what it was a few years (actually many years) ago. This seems to apply to some of the other manufacturers forums too. Where has everyone gone,or has the novelty worn off??

Mast coating advice sought please.
Mast coating advice sought please. I have a 2 piece 460 Exel mast that I acquired second hand. I have been using it a while now and have noticed that it is wearing on the area where the boom clamps in place. It is not getting to the stage where fibres are exposed yet but it will soon. Can I coat it with epoxy gelcoat to extend its life or is this not... more »

Boom Regrip Kits available
Being an avid windsurfer, I occasionally need to regrip a boom. Getting all the right materials together was almost impossible, and most instructions were hard to follow. It occured to me there might be a market for a really good regripping kit, so I've put together a fantastic kit just to fill that need.... more »

Light vs. Heavy Rig.
Now that I've taken up my winter residence, I'm once again becoming aware of the weight difference in rigs. I have heavy equipment here. The Chinook Comp boom and a 30% carbon mast. If I purchase new and more expensive replacements, the rig will be lightened by a pound or two. Up to now this hasn't been a noticeable difference for me once I... more »
