The SF bay area has been in a strange pattern the last few days, maybe
partly because of all the fires we've been having but that's a pretty
wild guess.
Anyway, I went up the Sherman Island yesterday where it was blasting all
day. At 4:30 I looked out at the river and counted just the sails I could
see from the little ranger booth where you pay for parking. I counted 53
and that was clearly undercounting 'cuz I wasn't looking for sails down
in the water.
It was busier earlier. And there were at least that many kiters out. And
when I left around 6 there were still lots of folks out at the Sign and Power
Lines and other spots.
So this group may be getting smaller but there sure are a lot of sailors
out there.
Cheers,
Cliff
With gas at $4.60 a gallon in SF, that hour trip out to the Delta with
the two tolls is a $35-40 trip. A few years ago it was $10-15 so you
really better choose your days wisely. I have a feeling you will see
less people up there. I definitely noticed an absence of jet skis and
motor boats.
Well there's the bright side.
