I would except most of the Democrats from your description above,
but watching the Republican presidential candidates "crash and
burn" one after the other as they demonstrate (often laughably)
their gross incompetence for holding ANY responsible office has
been entertaining - if a bit scary that ANYONE would consider
voting for ANY of them (with the exception of the very intelligent
John Huntsman, who hovers around 1% in the Republican polls of
course). As for the Republican senators and representatives, their
stated preference for trying to defeat Obama ***AT ANY COST***
instead of working for the well being of the country and its
people is DISGUSTING!!! Their actions (or more accurately, their
unified blocking of actions) has been truly reprehensible. I (in
my nearly 70 years) have NEVER seen anything like this inexcusable
"know-nothing" partisanship, not only on the part of the stupid
"Tea Partiers" ("Gee, it'd be OK if the country defaulted on its
debt..., right?"), but generally on the part of the Republicans
who work as a unified block against ANY reasonable taxing of the
richest and the corporations in favor of cutting important
"safety-net" programs and increasing taxes on those who can least
afford it, but who would otherwise spend that money, hastening
economic recovery from the Bush disaster-building years. 'Course,
we also can't touch our bloated military to save the country from
economic disaster, either! YUCK! I wonder when (or if) folks will
finally get who is on their side, and who is on the side of the
greedy, power-hungry, and the all-around self-serving at their
expense. BTW, I now wear an "I'm in the 99%" button at all times
and support the efforts of the "Occupy Wall Street" ***people***
(not the corporations that are now legally "people" here [gosh,
I wonder when the first "person-corporation" will run for office]).
I also just sold all my stocks, and the money is going into local
credit unions. Gee, I wonder why...;-)
