I thought I'd post the charter to this group in case folks want
some clarification on postings here. From the RESULTS posting:

CHARTER: rec.video.dvd.tech

Rec.video.dvd.tech will provide a place for the discussion of the
application of Digital Versatile Disc (formerly known as the Digital
Video Disc) technology to video, referred to as "DVD-Video".
Specifically, the rec.video.dvd.tech newsgroup will serve as a forum
to discuss DVD technical issues. Appropriate areas for discussion
will include discussions of DVD formats and specifications, DVD
technology (e.g., dual-layer, RSDL), DVD audio and video encoding
issues (e.g., audio and video selection, anamorphic encoding,
widescreen formatting), and future/up-and-coming DVD technology and
issues.

The posting of advertisements, money-making schemes, and other "spam"
is not allowed, even if such material is related to DVD and/or
DVD-Video. The posting of pictures and other binaries is not allowed,
even if such binaries are related to DVD and/or DVD-Video.
Crossposting is discouraged, but not forbidden; participants are asked
to use their judgment in order to help keep crossposting to a minimum.
