I've butted into a thread but did change the subject to start a new
one.
Xman, I wondered if you can tell me something about SF 10.
I used SF a bit up to version 9 but also used Adobe Audition and later
Soundboth for the kinds of editing one runs into for audio during
video editing.
Is SF 10 much of a change?
Have the sound cleaning up tools been enhanced? They were quite good
in 9.
I'm not Xman but here's a list of what's new in SF 10.
* Event-based editing.
* Disc-at-once CD burning.
* Enhanced timestretch and pitch shifting with the élastique
Timestretch plug-in.
* Support for processing musical instrument files (.dls, .sf2, .gig).
* The Global media cache setting on the Editing tab of the
Preferences dialog allows you to reserve RAM for media recently read
from or written to disk.
* Metadata windows.
* Floating window docks.
* Enhanced Broadcast Wave Format (.bwf) support.
* Enhanced window layout management — save, recall, and share
custom window layouts.
* Tabbed browsing for maximized data windows.
* iZotope MBIT+ Dither bit-depth conversion and 64-Bit SRC sample
rate conversion.
* Resonant Filter plug-in.
* Custom selection grid lines.
* You can now set default fade types for effects on the Editing tab
in the Preferences dialog.
I still like ver 9 but, 10 has more features....
A con with 10 is the markers to region features, its sort of hidden in
the menu tabs.
A weekly radio show, texas overnite, the first hour on sunday into
monday, I edit out the commercials, there are about 24 markers.
Sound forge 9 was easier, as the markers to regions feature wasn't
buried in the menu tabs.
my 2 cents
