Tools: Premiere Pro CS4 or AE CS4
I'm trying to create talking person video that can be mixed with a web
site. It seems that only possible way is through FLV (or SWF if
converted, but audio was out of sync when I tried last time) with
alpha channel saved. I heard that Silverlight allows that too but
there is no way to save alpha channels for WMV.

Are there any other options?

Thanks,

Forgot to mention: alpha channel is not available to F4V (H.264). You
have to use On2 VP6 or the older Sorenson Spark to turn on the allpha
channel encoding.

It's been awhile sence I created a set of avatars based on my
own image but you might want to check out the current versions
of the www.reallusion.com products that I used back then. The
version of http://www.reallusion.com/iclone/ that had included
some of the features of http://www.reallusion.com/crazytalk/ that
made it easy to make my avatar's facial movements match what
ever I would be saying. I just set the background to a solid green
and the croma keying was easy in all the editing programs/utilities
that I used them in.

Seems to suggest that it now has an alpha output option.
So you might have what you describe, without even making
an avatar.

Luck;
Ken

It looks like you might be looking for their "Output for
WidgetCast"

Ken,
Thanks for the suggestion. I have plan to use iClone and CrazyTalk
too. This specific avatar is live person vdieo. We can probably use
the audio only and overlay it to CrazyTalk.

I'm also trying to find out if there is a way to have alpha channel in
WMV as it's the only approved video technology in my company.

The "live person video" avatar is what their "popVideo" is all about.

Their "WidgetCast" seems like what you are aiming for. It looks
like they are running a combo deal for "WidgetCast PRO +
popVideo Converter":

You wouldn't need iClone or CrazyTalk, if you went that route.

I haven't messed with "WMV" video that much (I have played with
"WMV Image" some) , but I don't think there is a version of the
CODEC that actually supports an Alpha Channel Transparency mask.
( There are a number of versions of the video CODEC and it can be
used in .avi and .mkv container formats. Not sure what version(s)
of the WMV video technology your company has "approved".)

Ken
