It may be that there is still time to sign up for email from Sony, at --
www.sonycreativesoftware.com (scroll to the bottom of the page) and
get the offer, if wanted...
--DR
No need to sign up for the email offer.
The Vegas Pro 9 deal is at
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/upgrade/vegaspro
There's also upgrade deals on Sound Forge 10 ($129.95) and Acid Pro
7($99.95).

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/upgrade/acidpro
Mike
It's not clear (or stated) on the Pro 9 upgrade page (above) that
the price is $149.95 (and not $249.95) until December 30th, and
that that price includes the DVD Seminar Series and the 6-month
'phone support for free - but maybe if one knows that this deal
exists and that ordering from this page includes everything (including
shipping) for $149.95, then all would be OK. ;-) 'Tain't very obvious,
though...;-)

If you go to www.sonycreativesoftware.com and scroll to
the bottom, you can sign up for email offers. If you sign up
soon enough, you may get this offer in email. But, it is worth
trying to begin the purchase sequence from
www.sonycreativesoftware.com/upgrade/vegaspro and see
if the lower price appears. Also check the box for the DVD
Seminar Series, and in the shopping cart, if all goes well, you
should see (with free shipping) --
1x Platinum Support Plan @ Free
1x Vegas Pro (Packaged) @ US$149.95
1x Vegas 9 Seminar Series DVD (NTSC) @ Free

Then sign up for the Sony email quickly - they may still offer it
to you in time that way...(?) Good luck (did you have a version
of Vegas Pro installed on your computer? The order may need
to "see" this (and it auto filled in the serial number in the
appropriate box when I began the buying process).

FWIW, when re-registering my Pro 8 after reinstalling on a new
machine, the registration process itself alerted me to the deal
discussed above. I received all three items for $149 - I chose the
downloads though. Maybe if you were to re-register or reinstall your
previous version you'd see the deal. Worked for me.
Regards,
Travis
Thanks and Merry Christmas

Does it come in the retail box?
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
You can order it either as boxed or as a download, same price,
so.............;-) (Better do it soon if you are going to order it, since
the last day the offer is good is the 30th.)

Hmm. This makes me wonder. I just went for this on ebay
Are you saying there's something else that I have to pay for that I'll
need to make it run?
I've got a demo version of Vegas Platinum Pro 9, the interface looks
very similar, I was under the impression they were close to being the
same program.

I should say a trial of Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9

,,,,No. Sony is very good about supplying free updates for
their programs that have valid serial numbers and are registered
with Sony. After installation, go to the Sony site and download
the Pro 8 updates (currently ver. 8c) and install them.

,,,,They are similar, although 9 does have some added features
that you may, or may not, find interesting...
