Does digital tuning interfere with analog reception based on where digital is tuned?

Newbie question. I have a Comcast box so I'm ready for the digital
conversion. But there is one thing: Because of analog pass-through I
can, for instance, record a program from analog on a VCR while
watching a digital channel. However, I've noticed that depending on
which digital channel I have tuned, the picture on the analog channel
can degrade, usually becoming fuzzier. If I switch to a different
digital channel the analog picture will clear up and look fine. Is
this a problem I'll have to live with as long as I use analog? Can it
be fixed with certain types of splitters or other devices?
