Planning a trip in October to Cairo. Would appreciate any info on
discount airfare/hotel once there and any other advise about two
women travelling to Cairo, Aswan, Luxor.

Definitely stay in the Cairo Marriott. It is self contained, 5
restaurants, mall, tour buses stop therel AMEx had special rates there,
they have one of the few pools in Cairo. Concierge can arrange english
speaking taxi driver to take you to all important places. At bazaar, look
at brass items, and especially perfume essence. Great value. Much to see
in cairo, I have travelled the Med since 1961 in the Navy, have never met
people as friendly as the Egyptians. Behind the Marriott is the Anglican
Church. Best hotel, others don't have public spaces like it. If you see
a wedding party, it will be a memorable occasion. Go. Arrange for
overnight train or cruise to Luxor.
