is there anyone around knowing links in order to download MapSource maps
of Antarctica and Patagonia?

ok - I'll ask - why Antarctica ?
and what exactly would a GPS map show anyway ?

THE LINKS BELOW ARE FROM JOHN HENDERSON.
I just downloaded maps covering Argentina and Chile, which of course
includes Patagonia, and one tile covers the northern arm of Antarctica.


OSM maps are free:

Use img2gps if you need to combine downloaded map sections into a
composite map:

Have a look at www.osm.org to see whether the downloaded maps
will have enough detail for you.
