I plan a trip to Ukraine this summer.

I have allready decided to see Kyev, Lviv, Odessa and Crimea. I am
going to se Chernobyl as a daytrip from Kyev and know about the
organized daytrip there. On the may be list is a short stop in Uman or
Vinnyntsya, to get a glimse of Podillya. As is Chernihiv as a daytrip
form Kyev. As I have seen the countryside of Belarus and Estonia and my
guide suggests it is not too easy to travel independently on the
countryside in Volhynia, I think I will skip this alternative. If
someone have suggestions to interesting daytrips from Lviv I would
appreciate it. I suspet I will OD on churches and monastries after Kyev
and Lviv, but in case I have not I am aware of the possbility to see
Pochayiv.

So far I have not looked into Carphatians, Dnepr, Donbas and Sloboda
regions. If someone have any suggestions for something to see there I
will appreciate it. Keep in mind that I probably will have had my dose
of Churches and monastries, on this point and that in general I look
for something different that is allready on my route. Both cities and
countryside is of interest. I travel on my own and universitytowns are
often the best places for meeting local people that it is interesting
to talk with. I don't bring fishing gear, camping gear or the like so
countryside suggestions should be obtainable with just normal
backbacker gear.

I am alos open for more specific suggestions on what to see and where
to go on Crimea.

Advice on nice caucasian restaurants and cafes/nightlife with an
underground atmosphere is also highly appreiciated.

thank you in advance

Thank you for your advice so far.

Since last posting I have read about the Carphatians. Bukovina region
and Chervnivtsi sounds like an interesting region to see. If anyone
have sugeestions on what to see and do in this region, it would be
helpful.

I also consider to see Moldova on the same trip and this region is
probalby the closest I get to the Moldovan border. Therefore I though
this could be an opportunity for a Moldova trip. If anyone have
suggestions on how it is easiest to get to Moldova, please let me know.
