When traveling from Barcelona to Lisbon, which is the best mode of
transportation, flying or train?

By train it's more than 17 hours, so it has to be flying.

However my search didn't find any day trains on the Madrid - Lisbon
leg, so I'm not 100% confident about this.

Even direct train travel from Spain to Portugal sucks.

Anything that requires a connection is a complete waste of time

Thank you, Runge, Jesper and Tim....so flying it will be.
I thought that the train might be more scenic, but the time element is
important here, too.
