FREE LECTURES IN LONDON
A selection of public lectures given in October and November free in
central London. Each note shows day, date, time, subject, place, and
nearest tube station. You can just turn up, except the college asks
for pre-booking. Phone numbers start with 0171. Some interesting
study days are here, too, although they are not free.
I'd be glad to know whether this list is useful.

The following central London places have events or diary web pages
with lists of public lectures -- not all of them updated. The letters
in brackets replace the letters "xx" in the address
http://www.xx.ac.uk.
London Business School (lbs) Imperial
College (ic)
School of Oriental and African Studies (soas) Kings College (kcl)
Gresham's College (gresham)
University College London (http://www-server.bcc.ac.uk/events)

Other places may list public lectures on departmental or seminar
pages: the School of Slavonic and East European Studies is an example.
Lunches with waitress service are served from twelve at the the dining
room in the Norfolk Building, Norfolk Street, Kings College (go
upstairs to level one, through the union canteen, and down to the
service dining room: suitable for Kings and LSE lectures), and the
dining room of the School of Oriental and African Studies (go to
basement level and the dining room is straight ahead: suitable for
SOAS, SSEES and Institute of Education events). There's a good
self-service restaurant at MacMillans, ground floor, Senate House
(suitable for Senate House, SSEES, and the British Museum).
Phew ! Long list indeed, hope you didn't type this off ;-).
Would it not have been easier to post the relevant web sites along
with the specific subjects (eg History, Physics, etc) of their
respective diaries?=20
