I'm Spanish, and my English is very little, I' sorry.
The next April I will travel to Amsterdam for four(4) days. I need
suggestions about restaurants, public trasport, canal bus, museums, parks,
etc, etc. and the more important the day 30 of April is "the day of Queen"
how it's the city'?? is't funny?. are there too much people?
I have got booking hotel "Mercure Arthur Fromer" do we Know it?.

You can find traditional Dutch food if you really look for it. For
many Amsterdam residents though, Dutch food is secondary to other
cuisines, especially Asian. Amsterdam is a very international city,
and you can find restaurants representing most of the world's cuisines.
It is particularly known for excellent Indonesian restaurants
(Indonesia is a former colony of the Netherlands).
"public trasport"
Most places that are of interest to the traveller are easily reached by
foot. Trams are a cheap and good alternative to reach some sights if
you don't want to walk. I spent a week in Amsterdam and never had to
take a taxi.
"canal bus,"
Touristy but still worth doing.
"museums,"
The Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum are must-sees. The first floor of
the Rijksmuseum tells the history of the Netherlands through paintings
of historical events and figures as well as artifacts, many of which
relate to the Dutch East India Company. The second floor features
Dutch artists including Rembrandt and Vermeer, including Rembrandt's
famous painting "The Night Watch".

You won't be overwhelmed by crowds the way you might be in somewhere
like Hong Kong or Tokyo.

On april 30th, queen's day, he will be.... especially if the weather is
nice. Trams and buses don't ride that day, because the roads are full of
people. That's how crowded it will be.

about taxis. The tram is easy to figure out and cheap. I didnt try any
canal boats so can't say about that. The Rijksmuseum is under
construction right now (i was there in january) so it may not be worth
the time to see it. Only about 20 paintings were being displayed when I
was there. Another wonderful thing about Amsterdam is the architecture,
the whole city is a museum! The Vondelpark is really great and is close
to both the Rijks and the Van Gogh...if you take the tram or walk to
the Leidseplein, its right there...

If my son's 18th birthday weren't April 29, I'd be in Amsterdam on the

The "Gouden Koets" (golden carriage) is only used on Prinsjesdag ie the 3rd
Tuesday in September every year ie the opening of the parliamentary season.

Amsterdam isn't the only busy city on Koninginnedag!
We were in Amersfoort last year and the city was also very busy. I suspect
lots of Dutch towns are on that day!
