Can anyone here recommend a local tour operator in Brussels that
offers a guided tour that focuses on that city's outstanding Art
Nouveau historical buildings? I'm particularly interested in the work
of Victor Horta and Henry Van de Velde.
Does anyone know of short (3-4 hours) escorted tours (bus or walking)
offered in **English**? What would be the likelihood of finding such a
tour operating on a daily basis directly from one of Brussels three
train stations?
Any help much appreciated.

I found a less specialized tour of Antwerp and Brugge, and
one of Brussels, through my hotel. The prices were very
reasonable, and the guide spoke excellent (American) English
(he'd lived in New York for several years). I think
English-speaking guides are quite plentiful in Belgium - in
fact I get the impression that a lot of Belgians opt for
English, rather than engage in the French/Flemish controversy.

Have a look at http://www.arau.org/vg_saisn.php - tick "anglais" and
click on "OK" to list tours in English. The tour includes interior views
of a few buildings which are otherwise not open to the public.

We tried their Art Nouveau tour last Saturday: very good guide (in
French, but she spoke very clearly so probably comprehensible to anyone
with a reasonable knowledge). Only one of the four buildings we visited
would not have been open to the public, but we saw parts of one which we
certainly had not found on our own, and learned more about them. The
drive also took us through some of the main neighbourhoods with large
numbers of buildings.
Thank you, Martin, and I would certainly recommend this.
