I saw this article on the AFP news service. Fortunately a BBC TV crew
is onboard. It should be fascinating video.

For the adventurous, Quark Expeditions offers these cruises. I would
love to go on one before this ship's retirement in 2012.

So much for global warming.
It is global warming that gets ices flows moving around. sometimes
they then shove up to land and trap things

Global warming is a natural phenomena. Mankind has nothing to do with it. What governments won't say is that it is an excellent
way of raising vast sums of money from an unsuspecting public.
Actually, the climate immediately preceding and proceeding an ice age changes quite rapidly over just a few years.

You can't compare Venus to Earth. Venus has an atmosphere consisting of 96.5% carbon dioxide, 3.5% nitrogen. And they had no
humans there to add to the atmosphere.

Carbon dioxide is a poor greenhouse gas, and at around 0.0380%, its' effects on our planet are insignificant.

Just about everything.

Plus the amount of atmosphere on Venus is, according to Wikipedia, 93
times that on Earth.

Other gases have stronger "greenhouse" effects--namely water vapor.

The Earth's geologic record shows that the level of CO2 in the
atmosphere has risen hundreds of years after, not before, the periods of
warming. One would have to deduce that increases in CO2 has been a
result of warming not vice versa.
