For me, it must be Phillipsburg, Sint Maarten. On our weekly visits on
Wednesday, and as often as we could, I'd get a group of musicians, dancers,
social hosts, and child care folks and we'd take the bus over to Marigot
($1.50 each) and from there take the water taxi over to Anguilla. On our
way back to the ship we'd stop and do our shopping at the straw market at
Marigot's dock and I'd step into Little Switzerland to drool over the
Rolexes (15% discount from the states, and no duty!).
Howzabout y'all?
Same here, the beaches are beautiful.

In our admittedly limited experience, Georgetown, Grand Cayman stands out.
Beautiful beaches, friendly people, and a blessed absence of bottom feeders
trying to rip people off.
The port that stands out in a bad way is anything in Jamaica. :(

It's a four way tie for me:
Tropics: Tortola and St. Thomas
Tortola still seems unspoiled, is lush and the ride to Cane Garden Bay is only
topped by the beach itself. Coming over the top of the mountain and seeing the
expanse of turquoise and aqua waters of the bay is my definition of pure
paradise. St. Thomas has the hustle and bustle of Charlotte Amalie combined
with the tropical beauty of the rest of the island. There are a couple of palm
trees (or their descendents) on Magens Bay that have marked my spot of
tranquility for nearly 20 years. Both islands have also been the backdrop of my
sweetest shipboard romances.
Europe: Bergen and Flaam Norway. Bergen is as close to "Once Upon a Time" as
I've ever experienced. If I try hard enough I can still smell the flower market
from the middle of the fish market along the harbor. Flaam, the surrounding
Sognfjord, and the train ride up into the mountains made me feel like I was
temporarily existing inside an impressionist's painting. I will never forget
the waterfalls cascading down the cliffs, puffs of clouds suspended halfway up
as my first glimpse of that day when I came up on deck.

For me it is a tie between Messina, Sicily and Ephesus, Turkey.
The beauty of Sicily, especially Taormina and the biblical history and
awesome ruins of Ephesus make those my favorites so far in the
Mediterranean.
In the Caribbean, Barbados, Grenada, Aruba, Santa Domingo, Bermuda and
St. Thomas (St. John) hold fond memories. Sooooo hard to decide!
Jean
But my overall favorite ports are in Alaska. Each different and very
worthwhile.
Walk up Front Street to Back Street into town in the direction of the old
dock. Look for a bus that says Simpson Bay or Mullet Bay. Wave it down and
ask the driver if they're headed to Marigot and if so could they drop you at
the ferry dock. They'll drop you about a block away, just walk down toward
the water. You'll need your passport and have to pay $2 departure tax.
They'll collect the $12 fare on board. Ferry runs every half hour or so,
and it's a 30 minute passage.
What do you mean by weekly visits? You go there weekly literally?
