Looking For Travel Info On The Caribbean

I am planning a trip to the caribbean with a friend of mine. Neither
one of us has ever been out that way, and could really use some help.
We were thinking of going to the Bahamas, and would really appreciate
recommendations for hotels, dining, activities........We have also
considered cruising, but don't know much about that either. If we
could get some tip/suggestions on cruises/cruise lines, that would be
wonderful too. Thanks :)

You might consider taking a Windjammer Barefoot Cruise if you like to sail
and party!

Oh gosh, that is such an open-ended question. For people who jump in and
say "cruise to the Bahamas!" or "yes, go to the Bahamas" to a person who's
never been to the Caribbean ... well, I don't necessarily agree. First
question, what do you want out of your vacation? Do you want to party or
relax by the beach or are you a pool person or do you enjoy 5-star cuisine
or do you like a lot of athletic activity or...? Second question, what
type of budget are you looking at? What time of the year do you plan to
go? What area/airport would you be departing from? I'd be happy to help
you out more personally if you'll provide more info. There are a lot of
great places to visit and a lot of great travel deals out there.
