You are in for a treat. Biras is a beautiful place. The beach is very nice
and is on a deep bay. The watersports people will be happy to take you out to
the mouth of the bay where there is some good snorkeling - we even saw a
turtle! Water in the bay is calm. We were there in the summer, and heat was
not a problem. Of course it is warm, but the trade wind keeps it comfortable.
There is a pleasant wooded trail from Biras to The Bitter End resort. The
Bitter End has a sociable bar and a tank with sharks for a bit of diversion.
A nice excursion is to go to The Baths for snorkeling and to stop by Little
Dix. Their restaurant is lovely, but since Biras is AP, we had them pack us a
picnic lunch which we ate (discretely) on Little Dix's beach. Things are
rather spread out at Biras, and we made good use of the bicycles that they
supplied. If you want to see some more of the islands, you can take the ferry
for a day's excursion to St. John or (if you are an avid shopper) St. Thomas.
If you do, remember to take your passport with you.
