great beach - although I haven't tried the one at the Delta - it's
man-made I think, about .5 km from the main beach.
Main beach is about 1.5 km long, shade trees, great swimming, snorkeling
(with a decent swim), and scuba
Scenic area, people are super, rum & beer fine too.
I've been there about 8 times, my last trip in Jan stayed with
friends in Holguin, so didn't get diving - only 1 afternoon at the beach.

I went to the Delta Las Brisas last year (last wek of May/96) and have
booked another trip for april 4-11/97. It's a great hotel. The rooms are
not large but very comfortable, request a room over looking the ocean in
advance. If you wait until you arrive you will be put on a very long
waiting list. The food is average, the service great. The beach in front
of the Las Brisas isn't the best waterwise (lots of seaweed) but you can
walk along until you hit a better part of the beach (maybe ten minutes
away). Guadlavaca is very small with not alot to do but it is very safe
and the people there are very friendly. The rooms are airconditioned, the
bathrooms have great water pressure and lots of hot water (just a tip, use
the bathroom on the plane, don't use the one at the airport). US dollars
are the best to use. There is a neat beach bar/restaurant off the
resort, three minute walk - but don't walk, take a carriage ride which will
take you around the village, drop you off at the restaurant and pick you
up again for $5.00 US. Atnight they have a beach bombfire where a guy
rides across the beach on a horse with a torch and lights the fire and
then serenades the customers in spanish 0 really very romantic.I had their
special (lobster tail, fresh fish fillet and rice for $15.00 US and it was
excellent.
If you have any specific questions feel free to email me. Where are you
flying out of?

I am going to the Delta in March as I had a FABULOUS holiday last year. The
food is excellent the people are great. I highly recommend it!
The beaches are lovely and clean. If you want further info, feel free to
e-mail me. I am flying out of Pearson on Canadian Airlines--direct flight.
The advice given to you by other posts is accurate--don't use the restrooms at
the Holguin airport.

there's a new terminal - looks nice - but only had a minute there and
didn't inspect the washrooms.
and if you wanna save a $, Club Guardalavaca & Villas Turrey are fine places.
Turrey has the 2 best bartenders on the island. Joseph y Abel
both of those hotels are close to the natural beach - and dive shop.
