passed the Marana airpark west of I-10 north of Tucson, Arizona this
week. I went in for a closer look and found 9 Northwest Airlines 747's
parked there. The place had aircraft from other airlines too. They have
all makes and models of aircraft. IF airlines are not flying them,
chances are they are parked either in the Arizona Desert, or at another
site like it in the Mojave Desert of southern CAlifornia...
the desert climate is very hot and very dry....it can go 6 months
without any rain. Dry climates do not promote rust, but the fine dust
will get into everything that is not sealed
