Well...it's kind of complicated. Puzzle Zoo had originally said that
they were bringing back the color change IW for their exclusive sets.
However, from several reports I have heard, the figure that was actually
released in the PZ sets didn't do squat (i.e., no thermochromatic
paint). Perhaps they figured that since the original version had become
such a collector's item that no one would dare to open the PZ version so
they could skip on the thermochromatic paint. I dunno.

In any case, yes, there was a version of the original mold (which is not
great, but nice customizing fodder) released in the PZ sets, but no,
apparently it didn't change color.

They're out in Singapore on Marvel Hall of Fame cards.

A few weeks ago, I posted about this figure--not as cool as I thought.
It's supposed to change colors in warm water (go invisible) and return in
cold water. We had to use _boiling_ water to get any color to disappear,
and the color _immediately_ began returning as soon as we pulled her out
of the boiling water. For about 10 minutes, she looked like a
leper--very diseased and splotchy. Definitely needed a good
dermatologist. Plus her limbs were all soft.

Yuck-o.

Maybe it ties in with the leprosy Karen mentioned, but I believe she
also has a disproportionately small head. At least the ones I saw and
passed up did. She does seem to be the most popular of the Hall of Fame
figures though, with poor Spiderwoman the peg warmer of the batch. Jean
Grey, The Black Queen and Ms. Marvel are still readily available as
well.

It's now available everywhere on a "MARVEL HALL OF FAME" card, or something
of that sort. The ones that I saw...and I saw several of them, so they
shouldn't be hard to find...seemed to have an odd paint job, which is
likely an artifact of the particular paint that was used. Remember, the
reason the original version was so difficult-to-find was that ToyBiz had no
end of trouble producing a painted figure that changed color as advertised,
so it shouldn't surprise anyone that the feature is sort of hit-or-miss.

You should be aware that there's an additional INVISIBLE WOMAN figure in
the same series...a re-release of the repainted SPIDER-WOMAN from the most
recent FANTASTIC FOUR line. It could be easy to confuse the two figures if
you don't check the packaging carefully, so here's a good rule of thumb:
the color-changing version has a small shield, reasonably short hair, and a
spotty paint job in the costume. The repainted version has a catapault,
longer hair, and looks ridiculous.

I can verify this as I *gasp* open my figures! I was looking forward to some
color changing action, but nothing happened with the Puzzle Zoo release.

What should have happened? Does the paint turn white or does it disappear,
revealing a clear figure underneathe? I'm not about to scratch mine to
determine what is under the paint.

From the look of the paint job on the one I saw (which was very badly
done), the dark paint seems to change to white. Some people have reported
using very, very hot and very, very cold water to achieve the change...but
it's also possible that you have what's probably one of many defective
versions.

Try _boiling_ water. The paint disappears and you get an all-white
figure. Of course, you get rubbery limbs as well.

When you take it out of the water, it will probably start turning back
almost immediately, and look very leprous.
