the new trek figures have been showing up at Wal-Marts, 8.97 for the larger
size and 6.97 for the smaller versions. The figures are so so as compared to
the old trek line from playmates. the figures come with the same phaser and
communicator and plastic belt ( that doesn't quite want to stay fastened).
Also don't understand the rubber shirt concept, this is pointless, if you
have purchased and opened the figures you will know what I am talking about.
The Enterprise is also out at Wal-marts for 29.97, haven't bought it yet but
will next week when I get paid.

Thanks for the mini-review, Terry. I've seen pics of these figs and I
am not at all interested.

I may pick up a Nimoy Spock fig just to put on my ST shelf, but
that'll be it.

Please let us know what you think of the Enterprise when you pick it
up.

each of the small figures (4" versions) come with a piece of the bridge or a
piece of the transporter room, I guess it is playmates version of BUILD A
FIGURE.

One more thing that bothers me is that the figures don't have the same
articulation across the line, Kirk and Spock have ankle joints the swivel
while Bones has none? Why, they are basically the same generic body so why
do some have the joints and some don't? And the rubber SHIRTS still bother
me, there is no point to them...

I'm sorry this Trek line SUCKs very hard! The comunicator, phaser and
tricorder look like Dollar General $1.99 toys at best- very poor
quality- the figures are just plain weak in all areas. Clearance bins
this Fall...hope the movie is good, though. Terminator Salvation toys
from Playmates are actually WORSE than these- some of the poorest toys
I have ever seen!

this is sad because PLAYMATES use to be an excellent toy company. My buddy
called me because he bought the Enterprise, the box makes it look huge but
he says you open the box an it is already assembled and not very big at all,
actually a smaller scale than the old trek ships.

I broke down and bought the Bridge- pretty cool if you buy all the
other figures to man it...plus you have all the consoles and such in
place-looks nice. I'm happy and will stick to the smaller figures.I
think the movie will be very big since critics are raving about it and
buzz is it will be very popular with even non-Trek fans! Looking
forward to it!

I bought the Enterprise light and sound. First the BOX. The box could be cut
in half. The ship is in one piece in the top half of the cardboard tray the
the display stand is next to it. Really small, this should have been a 19.99
price point item. Then there is the issue with the silver BOLTS that hold
the dish together and the extra battery compartment on the underside of the
dish...
