It seems they're re-releasing figures that may be hard to find as singles,
as I've seen Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Ronnie Raymond
Firestorm in stores of late. It doesn't help those who need the
build-a-figure piece, as it's just the figure itself. It helped me because I
needed Ronnie Raymond Firestorm, and already had the piece from the black
Firestorm.

I've had difficulty finding certain figures, especially the Walmart set, and
have only found the Riddler from that set. I came upon Booster Gold from the
Atom Smasher set, and saw both versions. I picked up the variant as the only
difference is the two versions of Skeets and one Booster has a collar and
the other doesn't - no difference in paint at all.

I really didn't care much about the new Firestorm, I only wanted Ronnie
Raymond, so luckily, they've released him and I managed to get ahold of
one. The BAF pieces are irrelevant to me, I never open anything so it's
hard to build something with all the pieces still in other packages.

If you never open your toys how do you get to play with them?

I found the modern version of booster gold but I really wanted the classic
look booster with the collar. And why on earth do you not open the figures,
what is wrong with you man? just kidding...

People that don't open their toys are more value collectors than toy
collectors. Someone asked me one time why didn't I keep mine in the package
as it reduces the value of it, and my answer was I don't collect them for
the value, I collect them because I enjoy them and not for investment value.
I wouldn't have room anyway. The only time I ever kept a figure I found in
the package was when I found one of the 1701 collectible figures from
ST:TNG. It was so pricey that I sold it, and later they came out with a 3
pack of those figures, so I didn't miss out.

I don't. Do you ask stamp collectors how they "play" with their stamps
if they don't lick them and stick them on envelopes?

I don't care about value, most collectibles will never be worth
anything. I collect comics too, I keep them bagged and boarded, but I'm
not fooling myself in thinking they'll ever be worth anything. I have
so many action figures, as well as other collectibles, that there's no
chance I could ever display them, I'd have to add a wing to the house, I
buy them because I enjoy them, I have no interest in playing with them.

I actually have set up a room in my basement for displaying my collection,
As I run out of space, I will pack up older items and replace with the newer
figures.

Cool. I just go one more step and pack them all up.

I've only seen one GL at TRU and nothing else anywhere. What part of
the country are you finding these figs?

I'm glad they re-released the "Superfriends" Firestorm since all I
could find was Jason. And as much as I want Batman, I really need
that Metamorpho BAF piece.

Weren't they supposed to re-release Robin, too?

When I'm dead, I don't care what happens to them, I'm dead. Everything
I have is carefully packed into huge air-tight bins, currently more than
30 of them, each containing an average of 35-40 figures MIB. I'm not in
this to show off, I'm in it for personal enjoyment.

Heck, when I used to collect stamps, way back when, they all went into
albums, all packed away in a dark place. They're still there, even
though I haven't looked at them in at least 10-15 years now.

I got my Ronnie Raymond Firestorm at a local Walmart, but there was only
one so I snatched it up. The new version of Firestorm seems to be
pretty much everywhere, I saw about 5 of them at a local Target last
week. Unfortunately, most of the stores, Walmart, Target or TRU, have a
terrible stock. If you want Captain Cold or Flash, you're in luck,
otherwise...
