Anyone know of a mail order place I can get those good 5v5w balls? the
one I had I just returned because it was very hard. I really want to
get one of these balls but I just cannot find any of the soft leather
ones. If I cannot find anywhere to get them what other ball do you all
recommend? I saw a nice Mikasa ??2000 ball...

Mikasa is now making a composite leather volleyball that has a very soft
cover buta firm bladder. A pretty nice ball for under $30. I think it
may compete with the sv5w in the future (try one before you laugh:)

I just got a new Spike Nashbar catalog in the mail and they advertise 5V5W's
MADE IN JAPAN. According to many posters to this group, the balls that
are made in Indonesia are defective. If you call Nashbar make sure that the
catalog wasn't a misprint before you order.

It's not a misprint. We got our Tachi for them <before> the news got out
about the differernce. It was a Japanese model. Shortly after that Eric
Nashbar posted a message saying they would only carry the Japanese
version. Its great when a company actually understands the products they
sell.
