Congratulations to Daniel Nestor on his 7th doubles slam (includes 6
'blue chip' slams)

The man also has 2 mixed double slams and an Olympic gold medal.

He also has a doubles CGS!

In other words he's no slouch on the tennis court.

Oh, and he's also Canadian. :)

Daniel Nestor is fantastic. I met him with Zim at a tournament last
year. They were both kind and gracious. So sad they broke up.

I remember seeing him occasionally, and his name at the top/winner of
numerous club championships at a local club in Toronto many years ago,
when he was still a teenager.

Bollocks, I wanted the other guys to win - the Colombian kid who was
playing his first ATP level event :)

7 doubles slams in total and 2 CGS? How does that work?

Oops, misread. One CGS, very good... My bad.

For a guy who has 'murderous piranha Serbian' genes, Daniel always
looks sedated, rarely smiles.
Grew up in Willowdale, went to Earl Haig Secondary. I have his
autograph on a T-shirt from a kids' clinic he gave in Mel Lastman
Square.
For all the success he had with Knowles and Zimo, and now with Max he
said he thinks he would have done equally well partnering Lareau.

Of the four, Cabal had the most fire yesterday on court. 'A guy who
spent his life at challenger level' the commies remarked.
Schwank/Cabal were in it till the very end, lost in 30 seconds:
unfortunately, on Cabal's serve.

Yes, it's unfortunate how great doubles players don't get nearly as much
credit for their achievemnts compared to stars of singles. Hope it changes
over time, cause doubles matches can be super exciting, often much more so
than those of singles draws.

Yes I agree, it is rare to see him smile. I wonder what makes him
happy?

That's an interesting insight.
I confess that I don't watch many of his matches, but I suspect it is
he who holds the much greater 'weight' in all of his partnerships.
In fact I'm sure of that. Whoever he partners with, turn out to be
lucky guys. :)

I'm sure Max is thrilled with his partner now.

After the last point Max slapped Daniel's butt several times,
jokingly. And Nestor did smile a bit at Max's effusion.
(Of course, Max has several titles partnering Roger, one of them
against Nestor/Knowles)
