80s the era which had most greats dominating?

How many decades had 10 great champions at the top of their game?

The "decade" did not have Borg at the top of his game. He was a force
for 1980 and 1981, then left. Two years do not constitute a decade.
The same analysis can be applied to Connors and McEnroe, except that
in their cases it's about five and six years, respectively, instead of
two. And Evert can't really be said to have been at the top of her
game throughout the entire decade, even though her results were decent
until the end. Becker didn't emerge until 1985, so he also counts for
only half a decade. Edberg is similar, as is Graf.
There were a lot of all-time great players active *during various
portions* of the 1980s. But the entire lot of them certainly was not
at peak for the entire decade, nor for the same parts of the decade.

Its impossible for everyone to be dominating every year... that means
no one is really dominating. I don't think you get the concept of
domination. I did not say 10 players were simultaneously dominated
every week of the decade, that would be retarded. What I mean is every
year of the decade there was a great dominating it, not some wannabe
like Courier, Hewitt, Davenport, Mauresmo etc.

Who said that? Was Graf on top of her game in 1980?

The 80s was the golden decade of tennis IMO. There were all sorts of
interesting rivalries. Unfortunate that Borg left the game
early in the decade. His presence would have made the 80s even more
amazing.
I'd like to see more players like Connors and Agassi....playing into
their 30s at a very high level. Imagine if we could get Federer and
Nadal
still active and playing high level tennis into their mid-thirties and
what that would do for the sport in this decade.....I don't think
we'll see it.

I think with modern fitness and training methods, both can continue.
Also remember these days tennis players play less tennis. Lendl played
101 tournaments between 1980 and 1982. Thats why by the age of 30, his
body was too much broken to continue to function at a high level.
These days no one will ever play 101 tournaments in 3 years. I am sure
both Fed and Nadal will continue for long.
