Everybody is into protect-the-body mode. Djokovic isn't going for the
big returns of serve. He's hitting conservatively (for Djoker and
showing little intensity out there. It's as if all of the top guys
don't want to blow their loads before the USO.
Federer was passive. Murray has been Murray...but probably better
than the rest. Nadal was just fucking uselessly tired-looking and
playing as if he was ready to lose anytime to anybody without any
particular concern.

This is the problem with the tour. How do you feel seeing this kind
of indifference on the court if you are a person paying significant
time and money to go to see some tennis?

I know how I react. By staying home and watching it on
television....maybe. If these guys don't want to entertain....I don't
want to pay to see a less than great effort. Sorry guys but I'm not
going to encourage this kind of mediocrity....justified as it
might be.

good post. it's one of the reasons i suggested about 10 yrs ago to
change the structure of the schedule, in hopes of getting more
tournaments where they do care.
