In which regard is the US supposed to be already a socialist country?

USA collects taxes to pay for military, police, firefighters,
schools, food stamps etc.

Adding couple of things there, like college, or healthcare, can't
be considered as a revolutionary change of the system. Logically
speaking. Because it's all about the degrees of socialism.

So if healthcare for all, or colleges for all would create
socialism, it would undoubtedly suggest socialism already exist.

Look at this.

Federer is tennis pro. He is no less or more of a tennis pro if
the skips clay or adds clay tournaments to his schedule.

What a good analogy, actually.

Yeah, Federer skipping clay, some have called that
"unprofessional", e.g. Wilander but overall, whether he plays
clay or not, he's still a tennis professional.

So it's all about perspective, just like bob noticed.

That being said, national state is the highest form of
civilizational development.

Most, if not all, good stuff are only possible if you have a
national state.

If you have open borders, you don't have a national state anymore
and you're regressing to earlier historical ages, invoking
misery, death, debauchery and Satan.

That would not create socialism.

Socialism is state ownership of means of production. That's was Occasional-Chavez wants.

Well. It's difficult to claim it's not already the case, everywhere.

Look at the billions Obama gave to private car companies? It
effectively means they belong to the government.

So it's all a charade.

We live in socialism.

In Europe e.g. EU has imposed a membership racquet on its member
states, collects billions, and then through central planning on a
continental level redistributes and hands over money though EU
funds.

So Croatia first has to pay half of billion dollar of membership
racquet, then apply for that same money and beg Brussels to give
us money when e.g. we want to build a bridge of couple of
hundreds millions.

Very bad model.

Maybe you in Russia.
That's why you are so backwards.

No central planning for companies and other enterprises.

I don't believe Ron Paul would approve of this EU system, nor does
he approve of all the things happening in the US.

And he's the ultimate authority on freedom and capitalism, not you.

The welfare attitude. Get free upkeep, then whine because you have to
fill out few forms.

Would you be ok with Putin annexing Sweden, forcing you to pay
membership and then when you fill out few forms and send them to
Moscow for approval, you get some money back for various projects
in Sweden?

And if you're really good in filling forms, you might actually get
more money than Finland.

See, there's a chance.
